Why Does The Cody ITC Channel Feature So Many Rappers?

At Cody ITC, we always prioritize our community's requests, letting your interests guide who we connect with through our spirit sessions. As we explained in a previous FAQ, every spirit connection we pursue is chosen based on analytics, viewer comments, and the suggestions you all submit. In everything we do, we are guided by what you, our viewers, want to see—not by our own personal preferences.

How Community Requests Shape Our Content

When we first began, we focused on asking questions to random spirits, which I thought would be the main direction of the channel. These sessions were some of my favorites, filled with unexpected responses after hours of recording and careful editing. But as the community grew, so did the requests, and we noticed a strong interest in connecting with popular figures, especially those who left an impact on their fans. Many times, I don’t personally know the spirit we’re being asked to connect with, but by the end of each session, I often feel a deep connection with them—thanks to the love and intention that you, our viewers, bring to these sessions.

Why We Feature Rappers So Often

The question of why we have so many sessions with rappers has a simple answer: it's what our community is seeking. From the beginning, many of the top requests have been for rappers. Tragically, in today’s world, violence, drugs, and gang-related issues have claimed the lives of many young rappers, leaving a profound impact on their fans. Unlike more natural or expected passings, these sudden and heartbreaking deaths often leave people seeking closure and answers, and they bring a wave of viewers to our channel who are looking for comfort.

The reality of this trend is reflected in our audience demographics and the response to our videos. While we do try to provide a variety of sessions with different types of spirits, we can’t ignore the fact that the majority of our viewers come to us through these rapper videos. As a result, YouTube’s algorithms also guide new viewers to us based on this content, solidifying the channel’s alignment with rapper-focused sessions for now.

Staying True to Our Community

It’s important to note that we don’t just chase views or go after what’s trending internationally. Our focus has always been on serving our community—not on adapting to trends for the sake of popularity. Many channels chase recent passings across different countries, hoping to build an audience from all around the world. While that might work for them, our approach is different. We know who our community is, and we’re here to serve that community, not search for one. Your comments and requests guide us, and we take our responsibility to deliver what you seek seriously.

Our Hope for the Future

As much as we’re honored to provide these sessions, we sincerely hope that one day, the world will shift away from this tragic cycle of violence and loss, especially among young artists. We look forward to a time when we won’t have to feature so many rappers because their lives will be long and fulfilled. But until then, we are committed to bringing comfort to those who need it most, wherever that may be, as long as it is what our community is asking for.

Whether it’s rappers today or rock stars tomorrow, our goal remains the same: to operate our equipment, film the results, and share meaningful, authentic sessions with all of you. Thank you for being part of this journey, and we look forward to seeing where this path takes us in the future.
